Tankfield Studio, Liverpool with Michael Johnson

Tankfield recording studio is part of Fallen Industries, the leading rehearsal room complex, located close to J2 and J3 of the M53. The studio is a 12 minute drive from the centre of Liverpool.

The studio is owned by Michael Johnson, ex-Factory Records engineer and producer whose discography includes Joy Division, New Order, Stone Roses, Soft Cell and Erasure. Michael learned his trade at Pink Floyd's Britannia Row studio, where he worked for five years, progressing from tape-op to house engineer.

Tankfield features spacious recording and control rooms, with ceilings almost 4 metres high. The rooms have an airy feel and are ideal for recording acoustic or amplified instruments and voices. Drums record particularly well. The studio is on the ground floor and there is easy access straight in from the huge car park.

There's an artist's lounge and tea and coffee is free. Close by there is a large Sainsbury's, a corner shop, pubs and even a hospital (if going to the Wirral gets too much for you).

UP Studios is a recording studio owned by Ugo Poddighe, music producer and audio engineer with training in musical studies at university level (IUDEM, T.A.S., SAE Institute, Middlesex University).

The studio is located in a quiet corner of Pavia's countryside, near Milan, but away from traffic and from any disturbing element. The rural setting and the isolation allow maximum concentration on the work, without sacrificing any comfort or service.

The studio's acoustics has been designed by Dr. Marco Fringuellino and Ugo Poddighe himself, with the goal of creating the best possible conditions to record any genre of music through the realization of three different recording rooms, which feature different timbres and reverberation times: Live Room, Brick Room and Vocal Booth. The Control Room has been designed on the "ZR" (Zero Reflections) model, with separate Machine Room. The heart of the Control Room are the console, pre-amps and Solid State Logic converters, Pro Tools HDX system and multiple outboard processors.
